President's Community Service Awards - 30th Annual!
The President's Community Service Awards are presented to students, faculty and staff for their contributions to the quality of life in San Luis Obispo and their spirit of civic engagement.
Awards are given to highlight specific achievements in service. The awards are selected on the basis of the written nomination by a panel of faculty, staff and students. President Armstrong personally recognizes award recipients for their efforts. For a list of previous award recipients please click here.
Awards will be given in the following Categories:
Serving Learning Faculty - Faculty, staff, or interdisciplinary team that demonstrates an innovative approach to engaging the community through curriculum related service, while simultaneously meeting a community need.
Significant Contribution - Organization or individual that exhibits excellence in identifying a need, creating awareness, providing a new service, or having a lasting impact on a broad community population through their volunteer service.
Greek Community Contribution - Fraternities and sororities who have contributed outstanding volunteer service (aside from philanthropic activities) to the community of San Luis Obispo County.
Outstanding Campus/Community Collaboration - San Luis Obispo Community Organization that has established a positive reciprocal relationship with Cal Poly which provides Cal Poly students with an opportunity to serve in San Luis Obispo and have a lasting impact on a broad community population through their volunteer service.

Nominees notified: Thursday, May 5
Deadline for nominees and guests to RSVP for awards ceremony: Friday, May 6
Ceremony: Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 4:00 - 5:30pm in the PAC lobby
