Notification of Student Absence

The Dean of Students office can send an email notification to a student’s instructors if a student is going to be absent due to a crisis or unexpected illness and the student is unable to contact instructors directly. The Dean of Students may also provide supporting documentation and/or advocate on behalf of the student requesting the notification. It is the student’s responsibility to contact each professor and make arrangements to make up missed assignments and/or exams.  Each instructor has the authority to make decisions about a student’s absences and the subsequent impact on the students’ grades.
