Wheelmen's Mountain Season Comes to a Close
The Wheelmen this past weekend at the Conference Championship Race in Santa Cruz, CA.
The mountain bike season this year was truly a breakout season for the Wheelmen. At the beginning of the year, the team gained an influx of many new fast and talented riders that were eager to begin racing. With a combination of fast freshmen and veteran members, the team was able to come out in force this season. Wheelman Mountain coordinator Anthony Branch stated, “I first knew we were bound to have a strong season as soon as we had 32 racers signed up for the Stanford race, hosted in Salinas. With our 32 racers of both men and women, we fully dominated by placing in every single category for every single event. Following that race, many of the other collegiate teams realized we were the team to beat. Our team continued to come out strong to every race with a good attitude and outstanding character that boasted Cal Poly's reputation as not only an academically achieving and athletically performing institution, but as a university built on excellent values, morals and professionalism.” Congrats on an incredible season, Wheelmen!
