Most services listed here are designed to support under-represented students at Cal Poly. They focus on creating connections and community on campus. Given the intention of these services is to create a safe-space, these gatherings are not for extra credit purposes or for class participation. Check out the calendar below for more details. The Gender Equity Center always has tons of FREE condoms to choose from, as well as lubricant, and feminine hygiene products. Stop by, and stock up!
Bridging the Gap: Community for Transfer and Non-Traditional Students
Do you work full-time? Are you a part-time student? Do you have kids or expecting? Are you over 25 years old? Returning to college after some time away? If so, join us for to build community and connections with students in the same boat!
Gatherings: A Space for Women of Color
Hang out with women from diverse backgrounds, with great conversations, good food and fun activities. We provide personal, professional, and academic support to celebrate and explore experiences women of color face at Cal Poly. (Co-sponsored with the MCC)
Men of Color: Positive Masculinity Dialogues
A weekly dialogue series in which Men of Color will explore race, masculinity, gender, and sexuality. These dialogues will help Men of Color move toward a positive masculinity and demonstrate how men can be effective allies. (Co-sponsored with the MCC)
Wilderness Mamas: A Girls Group for Outdoor Activities
Hike, kayak, rock climb, barbecue…Join us for weekly nature excursions to build friendships and empower ourselves to be active. Open to all fitness and ability levels, no experience required.
WomenKind: Creativity and Feminism
Like talking about Feminism and sex positivity? Is art and crafting your thing? Want to build community with other women? Join us for weekly hangouts to do all that and more! Open to all women and female identified individuals.
