How to Report Incidents and Concerns
If this is an emergency, please call 911.
If this is a non-emergency and you would like to file a police report, please contact 805-756-2281.
Filing a report with Cal Poly Dean of Students has no legal implications, but it may require Cal Poly to notify University Police of the incident.

Student of ConcernIf the student's behavior is clearly and imminently reckless, disorderly, dangerous, or threatening including self-harm behavior, please immediately contact the Cal Poly Police Department at 805-756-2281 or 911. If you would like to refer a Student of Concern, which may include, but are not limited to non-emergency worries about a student’s behavior, such as signs of depression, suicidal ideation, the intent to be violent, and/or sudden mood shifts, please click the following link.

Academic DishonestyIncidents of academic dishonesty may include cheating, plagiarism, falsification of documents, use of unauthorized study aids, or other violations that involve gaining an unfair academic advantage. |
Student ConductIncidents of student misconduct vary widely and may include issues involving alcohol, drugs, theft, weapons, violence, harassment, sexual misconduct, hazing, or other violations that are non-academically related. |
Discrimination or HarassmentCal Poly's policies against discrimination, harassment, retaliation applies to all programs, activities, employment practices and operations of the University. This includes the conduct of all students and employees as well as the conduct of all guests, visitors, vendors, contractors, subcontractors and others who do business with Cal Poly. |
Other Conduct of ConcernConduct that does not violate CSU policies or local, state, or federal laws and, therefore, does not warrant disciplinary action, but that nevertheless negatively affects the learning, living, or working environment of the university community. |
Bias IncidentA bias incident refers to any behavior, action, or decision that is motivated by prejudice or discrimination towards a person or group based on their identity such as race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or religion. |
Clubs/Orgs MisconductIncidents involving a club or organization, whether it takes place on or off-campus, are subject to all University policies and rules, and are responsible for the conduct of their members. The Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (OSRR) will exercise jurisdiction over the conduct of all recognized student organizations, including fraternities, sororities, and interest and sports clubs.
